DESIGN EXPERIENCE

Graphic Designer: JEVS Human Services (2005 – Present)

  • Responsible for conceptualization and design of graphic applications such as collateral material, environmental graphics, newsletter, and corporate identity from concept to completion.
  • Implemented new branding for JEVS Human Services including the redesign of the newsletter to fit with the new identity, resulting in the Clarion Award for most improved newsletter.
  • Reorganized and oversaw the update to JEVS Guide to Services creating a more usable table of contents and structure.
  • Worked to oversee redesign of website.
  • Project managed and designed the JEVS Annual Report.
  • Designed direct mail pieces, brochures, and an insert for the newsletter for a successful capital campaign for a new building for Orleans Technical Institute, JEVS’ trades school.
  • Created newspaper ads for Orleans Technical Institute and many other JEVS programs.
  • Coordinated in-house production and outside services.
  • Art directed photo shoots for collatoral materials.
  • Maintain photographic library and digital records.

Temporary Production Assistant for the following companies:

  • Westinghouse Lighting, Philadelphia, PA (July 2005)
    Collected materials for printing. Created and updated sales sheets, price lists, labels, and other documents.
  • Bentley Systems, Exton, PA, (June 2005-July 2005)
    Created and updated white pages, brochures, posters, web graphics, and other marketing materials in several languages for an international engineering software company.
  • Southco, Concordville, PA (December 2004-March 2005)
    Created technical illustrations, edited product photos, laid out pages of 232-page new product supplement of latches, hinges, and fasteners–merging a newly aquired company’s products into the Southco corporate template.

Freelanced as a Graphic/Web Designer and Web Developer, for the following companies and organizations:

Web Master and Technical Support: Graduate Student Center, University of Pennsylvania (May 2002-Present)
Design, develop and update the Graduate Student Center's website viewed by an average of 400 people per day, Maintained an easy to use low graphic interface in order to facilitate slower modems for easy access to information that is updated daily. Improved student transactions with the GSC by creating online room reservations, event sign-up, and feedback/suggestion forms. Eliminated duplicate efforts by using scripting to incorporate the existing Penn calendar into the GSC’s website. Implemented a password protected intranet for the employees at the Grad Center which offers access to important internal documents. Redesigned a printed 77 page Student Resource Guide, and created a web version of the guide. Launched a New Student Orientation site. Provide basic computer support.

Graphic/Web Designer: Backbone Media, Waltham, MA (1999-2002)
Designed and maintained websites for a web promotion company with a diverse clientele. Created animated and non-animated graphics and advertising banners for existing websites. Analyzed web and search engine traffic; wrote meta tags based on targeted keywords.


ANIMATION AND VIDEO EXPERIENCE

Teaching Assistant for Digital Animation, University of Pennsylvania (Fall 2002–Spring 2003)
Worked with students on a series of short projects to develop technical and conceptual skills in both 2D and 3D animation. Followed the development of student work from conception to final output. Held office hours every week to trouble shoot student work. Facilitated group critiques of final work.

Digital Video, University of Pennsylvania (Spring 2003)
Wrote, filmed, and produced documentary and narrative shorts using miniDV cameras and Final Cut Pro.
